Educate Yourself About Divorce

The decision to get a divorce will be one of the biggest and most consequential choices of your life. Your divorce will directly impact your finances, your quality of living, the lives of your children, and your own emotional health. Maybe you’ve already decided that a divorce is the right choice for you, or perhaps you are unhappy in your marriage and may be considering divorce for the first time. Either way, before you take the plunge, one of the best things you can do for yourself is to learn about the divorce process, talk to professionals in the divorce field, and prepare yourself for the inevitable challenges and the road ahead.

(Note: If you are in an abusive and unsafe relationship, do not wait! Remove yourself from your partner’s control ASAP!)

The Benefit of the Second Saturday Divorce Workshop

We believe so strongly in making an informed choice when it comes to divorce that we’ve designed a specialized workshop just for this purpose called the Second Saturday Divorce Workshop. We feel that the current divorce information available, especially geared toward women, is paltry, generic, and not very helpful.

Women are often much more financially impacted by divorce than their higher-earning husbands. They are also more likely to receive a greater share of custody and to want to stay in their home (at least in our experience). This means that women often face a fraught financial future after divorce, which can lead to great uncertainty and anxiety.

Women are also deeply empathetic, which means that divorce can wreak significant emotional havoc on their mental well-being. Finally, many women just aren’t sure what to expect during a divorce. How much can they expect to get? Is it better to try divorce mediation or take their spouse to court? To muddle the waters further, the laws in each state differ, so most divorce articles are light on specific details.

Overall, there really isn’t a great resource that addresses divorce in a holistic way, incorporating legal, financial, and emotional education… that is, until the Second Saturday Divorce Workshop.

We Are All About Education

The Second Saturday Divorce Workshop provides women with the education they need before either making the decision to get a divorce or pursuing a divorce. Each workshop is locally run and brings in local professionals, including divorce attorneys, divorce financial planners, and therapists who specialize in working with women and families after a divorce.

The beauty of a Second Saturday Divorce workshop is that the professionals can discuss local laws and directly answer your personal questions. Every divorce is different, and the best solution for one woman may be terrible advice for another.

Our goal in inviting you to a Second Saturday Divorce Workshop is to equip you with the information you need to determine whether divorce is the right choice for you and to empower you on your divorce — journey   if that’s what you choose. After leaving the workshop, you should have a much better understanding of what to expect and how to effectively prepare for divorce if that is the direction you want to go.
